What to say about this trip .... It is an alternative to go from Amitges to Colomers or vice versa, without going through Saboredo. In this case we returned from Colomers to the lake of Sant Maurici and returned to Espot to pick up the car. It's a crossroads. It is very beautiful, varied, with lakes and green pastures, all of enormous beauty. We leave the Colomers refuge and after the dam you will find the sign that takes you either to Saboredo or to the Ratera pass taking the GR11. We take this one and the ascent begins but that until arriving at the port of Ratera is smooth, it goes up without rest but it has been doing smoothly. You find Lake Llong, the Redón, rivers, pastures, all very very beautiful. Finally the Obago Lake and when you follow it, the ascent to Ratera begins (2,584 mts). In the end it is strong, but I would say it is not very very hard. We reach the top, rest a bit and go down to Sant Maurici, tripling the detour right next to the shady lake of Ratera, in case we want to go to Amitges. We continue down the river a few times, everything is water, a delight. Finally we reach the path that leads to the viewpoint of the lake and from there to Sant Maurici there is only half an hour left. A beautiful and highly recommended trip. If you want to go in the opposite direction, I would say that the ascent to Ratera is not excessively hard, and the descent to Colomers is very smooth and very beautiful.
